Q: What do I see patients for?

A: The emphasis in this clinic is on midlife care, focusing mostly on perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause. This includes treating a wide variety of symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep issues, fatigue, weight changes, bone health and sexual health. Other hormonal issues such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) can be addressed as well.

Q: How does it work?

A: New patient visits are 60 minutes in length. You will receive an intake form to fill out prior to your visit so that I can review it before we meet. Follow up visits are usually scheduled in 2-3 months to assess treatment and symptoms. Once you are feeling great, we can space that out to an annual visit. Charting is done through an electronic medical record system, and records can always be sent to your primary care physician or your gynecologist. Prescriptions will be sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, and my EMR integrates with labs in Hawaii.

Q: What type of HRT do you prescribe?

A: I prescribe FDA approved hormone therapy. This includes bioidentical hormones (such as Estradiol and Progesterone). This means that they are medications that have the same molecular structure as the hormones made by your body.

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: I do not. At this time it is fee for service.

Q: Do you work anywhere else?

A: I have owned and operated a clinic on Maui (Maui Lani Physicians and Surgeons) for the past 10 years doing obstetrics and gynecology. As of October of 2023, the clinic will just be seeing gynecology patients. If you are on the island of Maui, you are welcome to see me there in person, but Pacific Menopause is a separate entity from MLPS.
